Transitioning from youth to adulthood is tough! I appreciate meeting the in the moment challenges head on with my students. Most importantly, I have the ability to get creative in our work together. I took an introduction to the field of education course my freshman year at a community college. During that course, I was able to reflect on mentors/teachers I have had in the past that went the extra mile for me to succeed. I am a big believer in paying it forward and it is my goal to give to others what has been given to me. I truly believe that one caring adult can change the cycle of adversity for a young person. I continued to study education, and have worked with young people 2-28 in a variety of roles. I am fascinated by stages of development and continue to find myself drawn to alternative/individualized modes of education. At Medaille College I majored in 7-12th Special Education concentrating in English Language Arts. I also have Bachelors of Science n Liberal Studies. My last year of college was full of self-made independent studies focusing on education, psychology, and sociology.
