Northwest College Support works hard to engage students in fun and interesting activities as well as support their therapeutic growth with meaningful groups. All activities are optional to students in order to allow for students to pick and choose what they are really passionate about as well as mimic the freedom of participation we all have in the“real world.” It is the goal of NWCS that students use the skills and confidence they gain in our group activities to go to group activities outside the program (such as student clubs and groups on their college campus). Here are some of the weekly reoccurring groups we have going on:

  • Art Group

  • Cooking Class

  • Mindfulness and Meditation

  • Basketball

  • Japanese Language and Culture

  • Women’s Group

  • Watch Thursday Night Football

  • Men’s Group

  • Dungeons and Dragons

  • Yoga

In addition to the weekly groups, staff also provide opportunities for more spontaneous group activities. These activities are often:

  • Hiking

  • Skiing/ Snowboarding in the winter

  • Paddle boarding

  • Sailing

  • Fishing

  • Wake boarding

  • Gardening

  • Going to local farmer’s markets or other local events

  • Game night or bowling

  • Geo cache-ing, scavenger hunts, or Pokemon Go
