Education Coach

I love working with college students and staying current on what's going on in the world; music, lingo, and new information being presented in classes. I graduated with my BA in K-12 Education, with the goal of being a classroom teacher. I found that it was difficult to balance my home life with my own small kids and my work life with 30 extra kiddos, so I pursued educational opportunities that weren't classroom teaching. I interviewed at NWCS without really knowing what an "education coach" was, but I quickly realized that this was a position that made me feel like I was making a difference in people's lives while still allowing me to go home at the end of the day and leave work at work.

I have a BA in K-12 Education from University of Alaska, Fairbanks. I then completed my Master's of Education in Curriculum & Design through Concordia University in Portland. I also hold Teaching Certificates in Alaska and Wyoming, and am working on my certification for Washington. My academic strengths are English, reading/writing. I would consider writing mechanics such as grammar, spelling, and punctuation my speciality.
